A lovely grasshopper wandered into my yard this summer and I chose to paint him as part of my "Beauty with a Blade" series.
 
The painting was created with oil paint and a palette knife.
 
With funds from the Arrowhead Regional Arts Council, I was awarded the NEA-ARP Working Artist Grant to complete this painting and two others.
